  • What is Via-T?

    Via-T is the name of the interoperable remote toll collection system implemented on all toll roads in Spain, Portugal and France.

  • What does Via-T do?

    Via-T allows you to pay a road toll or parking fee without taking a ticket or stopping your vehicle. With, Via-T your trip is faster, more comfortable and cheaper. You can also pay for the parking meters through the free Bip&Drive app.

  • Is Bip&Drive a Via-T?

    Yes, Bip&Drive is a Via-T transmitter that can be used on all roads that have the "Via-T" or "T" signs.

  • What advantages does Bip&Drive have over other Via-T systems?
    Bip&Drive offers you unbeatable conditions:

  • How does Via-T work?

    When a vehicle equipped with a Via-T device passes through a Via-T lane, it is detected by an antenna. When the antenna has correctly read the electronic toll collection device, it emits a single beep to confirm that the operation has been carried out successfully, the traffic light turns green and the safety barrier is lifted. The authorised speed for passing through the toll barrier varies between 20 and 40 km/h.
    If it does not beep or if it beeps more than once, it means that there has been an error in reading it or it has not been read, and the traffic light will remain red and the barrier lowered.
    If you use the Via-T lane to enter a motorway, you must also use a Via-T lane to leave it. With Via-T you do not need to take a ticket.

  • Can I use my Via-T in two vehicles?
    Yes, you can use your Via-T device in different vehicles. You will need different mounts. You can request an additional mount for your Bip&Drive device for €5 + VAT (pack of 2 supports only) through the web or the App.
  • Is Bip&Drive is valid for all types of vehicles?
    No, it is only compatible with "light" vehicles ("vehículos ligeros" - vehicles with maximum weight of 6 tons, or maximum usable cargo capacity of 3.5 tons or less). It can not be used for "heavy" vehicles ("vehículos pesados" - vehicles with maximum weight of over 6 tons, or maximum usable cargo capacity of over 3.5 tons).
  • How do I associate my vehicle's registration number with the device?
    You can associate your registration number in the customer area of the website or the app:
    Website
    • Access your "Customer Area" at www.bipdrive.com
    • Enter your username (email): example@example.com and password.
    • In your customer area, select "My Products", select the Via-T device you want to associate the registration plate with and click on the car icon on the right.
    App:
    Log in with your username and password, select the option "My Products" on the home screen and select "Add registration".
  • Can I put my Via-T in the glove compartment or in a place other than the windshield?
    No, the Via-T Bip&Drive must be placed on the windshield of your vehicle in accordance with the instructions that we will provide with the device and that you can also see on this website in the "How it works" section. Otherwise, the communication between the antenna and the device may not be possible, so the barrier will not open. If you have athermic glass, you must place the Bip&Drive on the windows which have been specially designed for this type of device, for which we recommend you read the instruction manual of the vehicle. If for whatever reason you do not want to use your Via-T, keep it in the metal box that we will give you when you sign up, to block the signal.
  • What happens if my Bip&Drive is lost or stolen?

    In case of loss, theft or breakage, please contact us immediately on 911 113 737. We will send you a new device for free. Only valid for "light" vehicles.

  • What should I do if there's problem with my Bip&Drive?

    Speak to the staff at the toll booth or car park, or call the Bip&Drive customer helpline on 911 113 737.

  • Do I have to top up the balance on my Via-T?

    No, with Bip&Drive you do not need to top up or maintain the balance. Bip&Drive pays for your usage and bills you at the end of the month with your monthly invoice.

  • Can I unsubscribe at any time?

    Yes, Bip&Drive has no commitment period. You can unsubscribe at any time, at no additional cost, by phoning 911 113 737.
    Do I have to return the Bip&Drive device when I unsubscribe?
    Yes, you must return it to Bip&Drive in the prepaid envelope that we will send to your address. You have a period of 30 days to return the device. A prepaid envelope will only be sent to private customers, not companies.

  • How many devices can I sign up for?

    As an individual, you can sign up for 3 devices. If you do, we'll apply a 50% discount on the annual fee for the second and third devices.

    As a company, there's no limit on the number of devices. You can sign up for 3 devices via the website or the app. If you would like more than 10, please call us on 911 113 737.

  • Bip&Drive Pay is for free?

    Yes, it is free. Its use and activation are free. There are nor commissions, neither additional expenses. Once activated, you can pay with your phone through Bip&Drive’s App at petrol stations, fill up in CNG/LNG fuelling stations, book and pay your next appointment for your vehicle inspection test and more services soon.

  • What’s Bip&Drive Pay?

    It is the new Bip&Drive’s payment method through your mobile phone. Its use and activation are free. There are nor commissions, neither additional expenses. Once activated, you can pay with your phone through Bip&Drive’s App at petrol stations, fill up in CNG/LNG fuelling stations, book and pay your next appointment for your vehicle inspection test, and more services soon. Plus, every time you pay with Bip&Drive Pay, you get Bip&Drive euros that are deposited in your savings account in the App. These euros will be deducted on tolls and parkings in your next monthly invoice.

  • Do I need to activate my Bip&Drive Pay account to keep using my Via-T?

    No, you can continue using your Via-T to pay at tolls, parkings and parking meters without having to activate Bip&Drive Pay. Bip&Drive Pay is the payment method for all the new services offered at Bip&Drive App.

  • Can I keep my bank account and add a card to pay with Bip&Drive Pay?

    Yes. If you already have a banck account associated to Bip&Drive, you don’t need to change it. You can add a credit or debit card to pay for the new services with Bip&Drive Pay.

  • What services can I pay for with Bip&Drive?

    With Bip&Drive you can pay for tolls on all motorways in Spain, France and Portugal, car parks with Via-T technology in France and Spain, and parking meters (green, blue and red zones) in more than 77 towns and cities across Spain. You can also pay for petrol at more than 2,600 petrol stations across Spain. What's more, you can book an appointment for your vehicle inspection test or find charging stations for your electric car. And soon you'll be able to book in for car washes and services at garages.

  • Can I unsubscribe from Bip&Drive Pay?

    Yes, you can unsubscribe at any time at no additional cost. Just go to the App, Profile, Payment methods and delete the credit card registered as payment method for Bip&Drive Pay.

  • How can I get discounts on motorways and parking?

    Each motorway applies its own discounts and promotions, as do car parks. You can check all the motorway and car park discounts associated with Bip&Drive in the "Discounts and promotions" section of our website https://www.bipdrive.com/ca/mapa-descomptes-viat/

  • Where and when can I check my journeys?

    You can check your tolls, car park use and parking meters in the customer area on the website or in the app. Toll journeys are not shown in real time, and may take between one or eight days to appear, since we depend on the motorways for this information. Each motorway transmits the information of the journeys in a different time and way.

  • How does Via-T work in Portugal?

    In Portugal there are two types of toll roads: the Vía Verde motorways and the Scut motorways. These roads do not have a barrier so you will not have to use the the Via-T lane, but you must pass through at a maximum speed of 60km/h. Your Via-T works on all road sections. To ensure the correct reading of your Via-T, it is recommended that you associate it with your vehicle's registration plate.

    In the customer area of the website and the app, you can view and download your invoices, sorted by country.

  • How does Via-T work in France?
    As of June 2016 our Via-T devices are valid for all French motorways. If you purchased your Bip&Drive before this date, your Via-T will not work in France - request a replacement on 911 113 737.

    When you travel to France, there are 2 payment methods:
    • Individual Plan: The month you use your Via-T in France you will pay €2+VAT in addition to your annual fee of €15+VAT. This is separate from your journeys.
    • Individual Plan Flat rate: You pay an annual fixed rate of €8+VAT for unlimited use of your Via-T in France, in addition to your annual fee of €15+VAT. This is separate from your journeys.
    In the customer area of the website and the app, you can view and download your invoices, sorted by country. For French invoices there is a month's delay between the invoice being issued and being charged.
  • Does my old Bip&Drive work in France?

    No. If you signed up for Bip&Drive before June 2016, your Via-T won't work in France, as it's only valid in Spain and Portugal. If you want to use it in Spain, France and Portugal, you can replace it for free by calling 911 113 737.

  • How does parking payment work with Via-T?
    There are car parks with Via-T readers at the exit and others with readers at the entrance and exit.
    • Car parks with Via-T reader at the exit:
      When entering the car park, take the entrance ticket and park your vehicle. When you return, you do not have to validate the ticket at the machine. Put the ticket in the exit reader, the control system will do the rest: it will recognise your Via-T and will automatically open the exit barrier.
    • Car parks with Via-T reading at the entrance and exit:
      When entering the car park you do not need to take a ticket at the entrance - you can enter and leave without lowering your window or going through the automatic machine.
    If you have Vía-T and do not want to use it, you must remove it from your vehicle before entering the car park.
  • How does parking meter payment work with Via-T?

    With the free Bip&Drive app you can pay parking meters in green and blue zones from your mobile through Telpark. You just have to register your Via-T as a payment method in Telpark. Discover how here: https://www.bipdrive.com/paga-el-parquimetro-con-viat-bipdrive-y-telpark/

  • How do I sign up for a second Via-T?

    You can sign up for a second Bip&Drive Via-T at half the price by entering the "My Products" section in your private area, where you'll find our Twin Plan with an annual fee of €7.50 + VAT.

  • What is the Flat-Rate Frequent Use Plan?

    It's our Via-T Frequent Use Plan for anyone who regularly travels on French motorways: for an annual fee of €23.30 + VAT, you have unlimited use in France, as well as in Spain and Portugal.

  • What is the Twin Plan and the Flat-Rate Twin Plan?

    The Twin Plan is when a customer signs up for a second Via-T. It has an annual fee of €7.50 + VAT. There's also the Flat-Rate Twin Plan option for anyone who regularly travels to France. The annual fee is €14.80 + VAT with unlimited use in France, as well as in Spain and Portugal.

Petrol

  • How can I pay for petrol with the Bip&Drive app?
    Simply download or update the free Bip&Drive app. Set up your Bip&Drive Pay account in 3 straightforward steps:
    1. Accept the general terms and conditions of the new service.
    2. Create a PIN to authorise payments: once you've accepted the terms and conditions, you'll receive an SMS with a modifiable PIN number.
    3. Link up a credit card as a payment method. If you already have a registered card, you can add a new one.
    When you go to pay, open up your app and select the Bip&Drive Pay icon. Show the QR code or the numerical code to the cashier. Authorise the payment by entering your PIN. A payment confirmation screen will appear with the euros gained for filling up with Bip&Drive.
  • How do I save money on tolls by paying for petrol with Bip&Drive?

    Each time you pay for petrol with the Bip&Drive app, you'll gain credit that you can then spend on tolls. Once you've authorised payment with Bip&Drive Pay, you'll see a payment confirmation screen showing the euros gained with Bip&Drive. This balance will automatically be applied as a discount on tolls and parking on your next Bip&Drive monthly invoice. On the home screen of the app you can check your accumulated balance of Bip&Drive euros.

  • Is my account balance accurable?

    Each time you fill up, you get Bip&Drive euros that are deposited in your account. This balance will automatically be applied as a discount on your next Bip&Drive monthly invoice. If you have more balance in your account than your monthly charges, it will be transferred over to the next month's invoice, so you won't lose it.

  • How do I know what discount each petrol station has?
    Select the petrol station you want to visit nearby. The app will show you the details of the discount (gold, silver or bronze), the name of the petrol station adhered (Repsol, Cepsa, Galp, Shell or BP and other and other brands
  •  brands), the type of payment it accepts (face-to-face payment with QR or numerical code), the exact address and how to get there.
  • What are the gold, silver and bronze discounts?
    Bip&Drive offers three types of discounts:
    • Gold: 3 cents off per litre.
    • Silver: 2 cents off per litre.
    • Bronze: 1 cent off per litre.
    If a petrol station appears in grey, it means that it still doesn’t offer any type of discount. The money you save with these discounts is automatically reflected in your Bip&Drive savings account in the app.
  • Where can I see all the petrol stations associated with Bip&Drive?

    Simply select the "Petrol" section on the homepage of the Bip&Drive app. The app shows the nearest petrol stations to your location and tells you the discounts you'll get at each one. They're also ranked as gold, silver or bronze according to the discount they offer.

  • Are Bip&Drive discounts compatible with my loyalty cards?
    Yes, this service is compatible with your fuel loyalty cards (Travel Club and Soy Mutua Madrileña). If you want to use it to continue benefiting from the special conditions offered by your loyalty card, remember to show it before authorising payment with your Bip&Drive Pay PIN.

VIT

  • How can I book an appointment for my vehicle inspection test?
    You can now book one directly via the Bip&Drive app. You just have to choose the vehicle (from those associated with your Via-T), the day and the time slot that suits you best. The app will show you the centres with availability, so you can select the best one for you and confirm the exact time of the appointment. You'll then have to enter your PIN to confirm the appointment and payment. You can check the details in the Bookings section in the app.
  • Can I change my appointment for a vehicle inspection test?

    Yes, once your appointment has been confirmed, you can change the day and time in the Bookings section in your app. Bear in mind that to change your appointment you must modify it before or after the day you had the scheduled appointment. In other words, if you didn't make it to the appointment, you don't miss out on it, as you can change it to the day after or later.

  • Can I cancel my appointment for a vehicle inspection test?

    You can't cancel a booking for a vehicle inspection test, but you can change the day and time even after the date of the original appointment.

  • How do I pay for a vehicle inspection test?
    The price of the test will be charged to you when you confirm the appointment. This charge will be made automatically to the default payment method that you registered in Bip&Drive Pay.

Invoice

  • Where can I check my monthly bills?
    You can view and download your invoices and tickets in PDF format in the customer area on the website or the app.
    There will be a single monthly invoice per country (Spain and Portugal) and one per device if you use it in France, which will show all expenses in tolls, car parks and parking meters, as well as the breakdown of VAT for tax purposes if you are self-employed or a company. Every month we will notify you of the availability of your invoice through an SMS, email or app notification.
    The billing period is from the 1st to 30th of each month and the account is charged between the 8th and 15th of the following month.
  • What can I do in my customer area?

    In your customer area you'll be able to modify your personal details, track the status of your order, check your daily payments at tolls and car parks and organise them as you wish. You can also download your invoices and sign up for more Via-Ts. All these services are also available in your customer area in the free Bip&Drive app.

  • How do I receive my monthly invoices?
    You can receive up to three different invoices, with details of all transactions made in Spain, Portugal and France:
    1. The Spanish invoice will include annual maintenance fee for Bip&Drive + all toll and car park payments in Spain + the payment method chosen for using Bip&Drive in France.
    2. The Portuguese invoice will include all toll and car park records in Portugal. Charges for tolls and car parks in Portugal will be issued every month on your Bip&Drive Portugal invoice.
    3. The French invoice will include all toll and car park records in France. Charges for tolls and car parks in France will be issued one month later. Charges for tolls and car parks in France will be issued every month on your Bip&Drive France invoice.
    You can check all invoices in the customer area on the website or in the app.
  • Are petrol station purchases shown on my monthly Bip&Drive invoice?

    Yes, your monthly Bip&Drive invoice shows all petrol station purchases recorded in the previous month. It will also show all accrued Bip&Drive euros taken off the monthly invoice and not applied to previous invoices.

  • How is petrol charged to my account?

    Unlike the use of tolls, car parks and parking meters, petrol is charged directly to the card linked to your Bip&Drive Pay account, not monthly in arrears like for the other services. However, these purchases will also be shown on your monthly Bip&Drive invoice, specifying the charge made at the time of buying the petrol.

  • Can I pay for other products at petrol stations with the Bip&Drive app?

    Yes, you can pay for all kinds of products on sale at the petrol station. Your Bip&Drive invoice will show you these products as "supplements" which are charged directly to your account, as they cannot be invoiced directly via Bip&Drive.

  • When is the vehicle inspection test payment charged on my invoice?

    The charge for the appointment will be shown on the invoice for the month in which you booked it.
